Chapter Seven: No Tricks
No tricks.
Aiden was being offered a place next to her to sleep. Something he had thought of doing many times with her ancestor, something he wanted to do with her. He remembered that haughty glance the witch had given him, simply making him fall for her⦠only to strike when the time was right and when she did not get her way.
There was still a part of him that feared this woman would do the same. Her power felt identical to her ancestor, and just as alluring to him. He had spent countless nights desiring the witch that cursed him and feared Cordelia would have the same effect over him. Only this time, it would be tenfold now that he had felt what her body and had seen what her magic could do to him. There was no way in hell he wasn't going to get into that home with herâ¦that he wasn't going to get as close to her as he possibly could.
Cordelia tossed a glance over her shoulder. She was pleased to find him following her. Aiden had gotten into her head. She was still cautious and she wasn't sure how much trust there was to be had in him; however, Cordelia didnât want him to go just yet. Stupid, stupid girl.
His power drew her in, the need to know more about it brought her in like a moth to a flame. There was also a need to figure out exactly what he was. The witch was weary to ask outright, not entirely sure she wanted to hear a response.
When they reached the door, she turned to face him. âEveryone else is sleeping. Donât say a word until we get to my bedroom.â
Aiden rolled his eyes, nodding slowly as he followed her inside. The solid black Shepherd was waiting on the other side of the door. Cordelia smiled and reached down to pet him. âCome on bud.â She whispered gently, nudging the dog in the direction of the stairs.
She paused briefly to peek into her brotherâs room, making sure the door was shut before she passed with Aiden.
âExcuse the mess.â The witch shrugged and stepped into the room, taking a step back to let him in.
Draco had passed through first, laying down on his own bed at the bottom of hers.
âI donât have anything for you to sleep in.â She shut the bedroom door and locked it behind her. âBut itâs not like I havenât seen all of you already.â Cordelia grinned.
Aiden glanced back at the door, still trying to be quiet and careful. Who cared if her brother knew someone was there? It was her powerful mother he was most concerned about. He had no doubt that Georgia would throw him out on a street corner without a second thought.
Aiden couldnât believe what he was doing but his power pressed him onward. It was almost as though he felt possessed, similar feelings of Finn, he realized. It really was karma but once he had a taste of Deliaâs body and power, she was becoming a drug to him.
